Ingredients
360g ground beef
240g ground pork
1 onion (approx. 200g)
1 garlic clove
1 egg
1/2 of a block of firm tofu (approx. 150g)
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Less Salt Soy Sauce
coarse-ground black pepper, to taste
Topping
500g daikon radish
2 tbsp Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Less Salt Soy Sauce
Method
- Finley chopped onion and garlic clove. Heat 1/2 tbsp of the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat, then cook the onion and garlic until tender. Remove from the heat and let cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, cooked onions and garlic, 1 egg, tofu, 2 tbsp Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Less Salt Soy Sauce, and pepper. Knead until sticky, then divide into 4 equal portions and shape into thick oval patties.
- Heat the remaining 1/2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat and arrange the patties in the pan. With a finger, make an indentation on the top of each patty about halfway deep.

When the bottoms of the patties have browned, flip and brown the other side. Add 100ml water (not included in the ingredient list) to the pan, cover, and steam for 6-7 minutes on medium heat. - Thickly peel the daikon. Grate and gently squeeze to remove excess water.

- Once the hamburger steaks are cooked through, plate and top with grated daikon. Drizzle Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Less Salt Soy Sauce over the daikon to finish.
Key tip
