Ingredients
300–350g steak beef
1 1/2 tbsp Kikkoman Stir Fry Asian Herbs Sauce
80g canned beets
2 tsp olive oil
1/2 onion
2 focaccia buns
4 lettuce leaves
butter, salt, and coarsely ground black pepper (as needed)
[A] Sauce Mix
2 tsp mayonnaise
1 tsp whole-grain mustard
1 tsp grated garlic
About 2 pinches of chili pepper
Method
- Take the beef out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature.
Just before cooking, season both sides with salt and pepper. Drain the canned beets.
Slice the onion into 1cm thick rings. Mix all ingredients under [A] Sauce Mix in a small bowl. - Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Cook the beef and onion slices for about 1 minute per side, then remove from the pan. Slice the beef into bite-sized pieces. - Slice the focaccia in half and spread butter on the cut sides. Layer with lettuce, beets, onion, and sliced beef.
Drizzle the [A] Sauce Mix on top. Close the sandwich and serve immediately.
